Magnum 4D is a Malaysian-based 4D operator that offers the classic 4D game along with other renditions of the standard format for added fun and excitement. The platform is the oldest and the first legally licensed lotto operator in the country and is one of Malaysia’s top 4D lottery platforms.
This article offers a comprehensive overview of Magnum 4D, what the platform offers, and all you need to know before trying your luck at a Magnum 4D product feature.
What Is Magnum 4D?
According to historical references, 4D games originated in Kedah, Malaysia, in 1951. As the trend caught on, there was a need for a commercial lottery operator, which was catered to by the establishment of Magnum, followed by other operators.
Magnum 4D is the primary licensed lottery business of Magnum Corporation, a multi-purpose conglomerate. The company was incorporated as Magnum Holdings in 1968. It was the first private company to acquire a license from Malaysia’s government to introduce and operate a 4-digit forecast betting platform in Malaysia.
The business was converted into a public company in 1970 and listed on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange. In 2008, the company was de-listed after privatisation was accomplished. Following this milestone, the company returned to a private-listed company status. At that time, Magnum Holding owned 51% of the business, while CVC Asia Pacific Limited owned 49% of the business. In 2013, after a demerger, the company sold its non-gaming business, and today it is principally focusing on its gaming business only.
While the company initially launched a classic 4D game, it branched out in 2009 and launched extensions of the classic version, including incorporating a pari-mutuel element in the game. Magnum secured the game via copyrights, and this game also won the best game award.

Magnum 4D Product Features
The first game that Magnum introduced was the classic 4D game. In this version, the player selects a four-digit number and picks the amount they want to bet. This version has small and big forecasts. A small bet can give higher winnings, but the player can only win if their number comes up in the first three places.
For the big bets, the winning prospects are low, but the winning prizes are not limited to the first three places only. There are ten special numbers for which a player can get up to RM180 for a bet of RM1. There are also ten consolation numbers for which players can win up to RM60 for a bet of RM.
The 4D game has five gameplay variations.
- Basic method: You pick a number, choose a big or small forecast, and then purchase the amount.
- Luck pick play: The system generates a random number for you.
- Roll play: You pick three digits and roll one digit. This will lead to the generation of ten different numbers for ten separate purchases. For roll play, the minimum bet amount is RM10.
- Permutation play: You can choose all possible variants of your 4D number. This increases winning chances as you buy all the possible digit combinations in varying orders. For instance, a unique four-digit combination can have up to 24 variants.
- mBox play: Your chosen 4D number is permutated already within a single purchase. It is important to note that since the winning chances are the highest in this play variant, the prize money is less. For instance, if you pick 3465, and the winning number is 5463, you will win as the winning number is a permutation of 3465.
The 4D Jackpot is an extension of the classic version but comes with a multi-million prize. To play this game, you must pick two four-digit numbers from 0000 to 9999. Each number pair is treated as one normal purchase, and you place one normal buy with a minimum bet of RM2. If one or both of your selected number combinations match one or more of the 23 numbers drawn, you win the Jackpot.
The 4D Jackpot comes in five gameplay variations; straight play, lucky pick play, permutation play, roll play, and a combination of permutation and roll play
4D Jackpot Gold
The 4D Jackpot Gold version includes more numbers and has a separate hefty jackpot prize. To play the game, you must pick a trifecta component, i.e., three 2-digit numbers from 0 to 99. Next, you must pick a golden component, i.e., one 2-digit number from 0 to 19.
Now place a bet with a minimum of RM2. If your selected trifecta matches the drawn trifecta component, or your chosen golden component also matches the golden drawn component, you win the bet. There are seven prizes for the Jackpot and five gameplay variations to play the jackpot gold. These include self-pick, lucky pick, roll play, permutation play, and All 20 play, which applies to the golden component.
Besides these games, Magnum 4D offers other exciting versions, including the mgold and Magnum Life, offering players a variety and more exciting ways to try their luck at winning the lottery. Magnum4D also has a dedicated app. Players can scan their slips and check if they have won the prize once the numbers are drawn.
