Da Ma Cai is a number forecasting totalisator providing lottery services in Malaysia. It is regarded as one of the top three 4D lottery services in the country, the other two being Magnum 4D and Sports Toto Malaysia.
This article offers a comprehensive review of Da Ma Cai, the games it offers, and what aspects we need to consider when playing at Da Ma Cai.
What Is Da Ma Cai?
Da Ma Cai, meaning Pan Malaysian lottery in Mandarin, is a lottery service provider run by Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn, Berhad, that was incorporated in Malaysia in 1988. The business is an independent private company approved and accredited by the Malaysian Government. It is dedicated to conducting and managing numbers forecasting under the Racing Totalisator Board Act of 1961.
In 2011, shareholdings of Pan Malaysian Pools were acquired by Jana Pendidikan Malaysia. Following this move, all the PMP net dividends are donated, making it a social business from a for-profit organisation dedicated to benefiting the local community.
The operator has a 3D game in addition to the 4D games, which are called 1+3D on the platform. The 1+3D is similar in terms of prizes and format to the 4D games featured at other sites. However, the 3D only has first, second, and third places, and the prize values are much lower than the 4D prizes.
Da Ma Cai also has jackpot features, and in 2014, the operator introduced its latest product, the Da Ma Cai jackpot, with a minimum payout of RM1.8 million. In 2016, Da Ma Cai launched its mobile betting application, the dmcGO, which is compatible with iOS and android.

As mentioned earlier, Da Ma Cai features 3D and 4D games. Here is a brief description of each.
To play a 3D game, you must pick a 3-digit number from 000 to 999. Next, you must decide on the bet type as ABC, meaning big, or A, meaning small bet. You can also play both. The big bet offers three winning numbers for the first, second, and third prizes. The small bet offers a higher winning prize; however, there is only a single winning number.
Once you have selected the bet type, pick the bet amount for your chosen 3-digit numbers, with the minimum available bet at RM1.
The winning numbers for the 3D games are based on the last three digits of the winning numbers of 1+3D. Like the standard lottery game format, 3D games have different gameplay variations.
- Straight bets: You can select any 3D numbers from 000 to 999
- Lucky Pick: You do not pick the numbers and let the system generate random numbers for you
- Box bet: Allows you to cover all the variations of your selected three digits number. A 3-digit number can have up to six permutations; the minimum bet amount for this is RM3, while the maximum is RM6.
- Roll bet: allows you to roll one digit from the 3D number. For instance, if you roll the first digit of R45, it will lead to the generation of ten 3D number combinations. You can choose to roll any of the first, second, or third digits. The minimum bet amount for this type of gameplay is RM 10, as a roll bet generates ten separate 3D numbers. You can also choose to roll two digits of the number.
To play the 3D JackpotJackpot, you pick three sets of 3-digit numbers anywhere from 000 to 999. These chosen numbers are spontaneously accounted for, and the result of the JackpotJackpot is based on the existing draw results from 3D games.
The minimum bet amount for the 3D Jackpot is RM2, and the gameplay variations include straight bet, lucky pick, and system bet. The system bet allows you to pick more than three sets of 3D numbers. The minimum number of combinations you can pick is 4, while the maximum is 25. You can pick the sets yourself or opt for lucky pick to let the system generate the numbers for you, or go for a combination of self and lucky pick.
The 3D Jackpots, like other draws, are held on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday and a few selected Tuesdays.
The prize pool of the JackpotJackpot accounts for 55% of the total bet amounts. If there is more than one winner for the prize, it is divided in proportion according to the winners’ bet amounts. Since a single unit bet is for RM2, the participants are entitled to one share of the prize for each unit. For instance, if winner A has placed bets of RM2 and winner B has placed bets of RM4, winner A will get 2 out of the 6 of the prize, while B will get 4 out of 6.
In the 1+3D game, you can choose four-digit numbers from 0000 to 9999. Next, you pick the bet type, i.e., big or small, and then the bet amount. The minimum bet amount is RM1. The gameplay variations include straight bet, lucky pick, box bet, roll bet, and iBox. The iBox allows you to cover all the variants of the four-digit numbers with a minimum bet of RM1. The number of permutations depends on the four-digit number, with the minimum number of possible permutations being six, while the maximum is 24.
In the 1+3D JackpotJackpot, you pick a pair of four-digit numbers, and you win if your selected pair matches any two of the first, second, or third prizes from the 23 drawn numbers. The minimum value of the first-place jackpot prize is RM 2 million.
Besides these standard versions, Da Ma Cai also features a Super 1+3D game which offers seven prizes and a 3+3D Bonus in which you choose two sets of 3D numbers to form a six-digit number and pick a zodiac sign. This product offers numerous prizes, with the first prize of RM 120,000.
